Are the panels made from PE or PU plastic?
No. Keylanta panels are not polyethylene (PE) panels or polyurethane (PU) plastic panels. The visible surface is made with natural mineral-based stone material and is designed to reproduce the texture and depth of natural stone.
Are variations in color and texture normal?
Yes. Natural variations in color, texture, pattern, and surface detail are part of the intended stone appearance. Lighting, screen settings, and production batches may also cause slight differences.
Applications
Find out where the panels can be used, including indoor, outdoor, bathroom, and fireplace applications.
Can the panels be used indoors and outdoors?
Yes. Keylanta flexible stone wall panels are suitable for both interior and exterior wall applications. Exterior installations require a properly prepared substrate and an exterior-rated polymer-modified thin-set mortar.
Can the panels be used in bathrooms or shower areas?
Yes. The panels are suitable for bathrooms and shower walls. However, the substrate must have a properly installed waterproofing system before the panels are installed. Adhesive or mortar does not replace waterproofing.
Can the panels be installed around a fireplace?
Yes. Keylanta panels have a Class A fire rating under ASTM E84 and may be used as a decorative fireplace surround. Do not install them inside the firebox or in direct contact with open flames, and always follow local clearance requirements.
Installation
Learn about the materials, construction, appearance, and key features of Keylanta wall panels.
What adhesive should I use?
For dry interior walls, use a high-quality, high-grab construction adhesive approved for stone, tile, or wall panels.
For exterior walls, bathrooms, wet areas, concrete, brick, or masonry, use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar suitable for the installation environment.
Can the panels be cut and installed by a homeowner?
Yes. Straight cuts can be made with a sharp utility knife and straightedge. For long cuts or large-format panels, a circular saw with a fine-tooth blade may be used.
Large-format panels should be carried and installed by two people for easier positioning and alignment.
How are seams and corners finished?
Most projects use tight-joint installation, with adjacent panels placed closely together to minimize visible seams.
Corners may be finished with an overlapping edge, a butt joint, color-matched flexible sealant, or a 45-degree mitered joint.
